The C-Nexus controller has numerous features which ensure that corrosion protection is precisely controlled on steel hulls, aluminium hulls and waterjet units and can be used in conjunction with Thyristor, Minitek, Alutek, Jettek systems. In addition, it is the standard controller for Patroltek systems for fast patrol craft.
Reference cell inputs
Up to 6 Zinc or Silver Reference electrode inputs. Measuring impedance automatically adjusted to reference electrode type.
Can measure up to 7 individual anode inputs* and the total current to all anodes. * Available on new installations only.
Displays the output voltage to all anodes.
Modes of operation
Standby mode, Manual mode and Automatic mode.
Password Protected Menu which allows all parameters to be accessed.
Individual or paired reference electrode control
The system can be controlled from any individual reference cell connected to the unit or by the average value from any pair of reference electrodes.
Inbuilt Self test function
Tests reference electrodes and anodes when entering manual or automatic mode. If the reference cells used to control the system have any failure it will prevent the system from over protecting the hull.
Will prevent the system giving a current output if over protection is detected.
Will prevent the system continuing to give a current output if the internal temperature in the control panel is excessive.
Can store 1 years worth of daily log readings for the system which includes all parameters, operational details and configuration settings. Can also store 1000 Alarm condition logs. Each time an alarm occurs all of the parameters, operational details, alarm code and configuration settings are automatically stored to memory.
Flash Program Memory
Allows the controller software program to be upgraded or reloaded as required via dedicated programming port and programming lead (Software and leads available from Cathelco)
Monitoring Software Program
The controller can be linked to an Ethernet network (the IP address is set in the Configuration menu). The monitoring software can be run on any PC which allows the user to monitor the controller in real time and to download the daily and alarm log files.
Normally Open or Closed Relay Alarm
A normally open or closed voltage free alarm relay contact is provided in the event of any alarm condition
Output Data String
Output data can be provided in RS422 or RS485 protocols to be linked directly to the vessel monitoring system. Ethernet or Modbus/IP data strings can be provided but these will utilize the Ethernet port on the controller.
Remote Standby Mode Operation
Using a remote relay controlled from the vessel monitoring system the system can be switched from an operational mode (Manual or Automatic) into Standby Mode to prevent current output from the system.
Shaft mV readings
Shaft mV readings can be incorporated on the display.
Anode Fuse Indication
Anode fuses can be monitored by the system. Fuse Failures can be displayed by the controller.
A remote monitor is available which allows the readings from multiple power units to be displayed in a convenient location.
Centralised Control Unit
Multiple Controllers (Power Units) can be controlled and monitored using a Centralised Control Unit. The centralised controller provides a graphical representation of the hull and all the equipment installed.
Aluminum Hull or Water jet Controller available with same inbuilt data logging functions.
Master and Slave Arrangement
Mater and Slave Arrangement for Fast patrol vessels where forward unit is controlled from system reference cells and aft unit acts as a slave as aft reference cells can’t be installed due to propeller wake and speed.
Multiple Unit Monitoring
A single monitoring software program can be provided to monitor multiple power units on a single vessel. For example fwd, aft and shaft monitor can all be networked and monitored using a single computer screen.
