Cathelco Jotun circular anodes and reference cells are designed with vulcanised rubber coatings. On installation these create a watertight seal with the cofferdam, avoiding the need for epoxy coating or putty. This not only saves times, but results in a better surface finish.

Preparation work involves cutting holes in the hull to accept cofferdams which are supplied by Cathelco Jotun to enable watertight electrical connections to be made to the anodes and reference cells. In the case of surface mounted anodes, mounting plates or studs are welded to the hull exterior.
