Reference cells are essential to measure the electrical potential at the seawater/hull interface to provide the optimum level of protection.

The readings are fed back to the control panel which automatically adjusts the current output to the anodes.
Produced with elements made from either silver or zinc, reference cells are generally recessed and supplied with mountings and hull penetration fittings to make the through hull cabling watertight.
