Cathelco are world leading manufacturers of marine pipework anti-fouling systems with a record of over 50,000 installations over a period of more than 50 years. The systems are supplied to vessels of every type including commercial, naval, cruise ships and luxury yachts.
In 1992, Cathelco introduced the C-Shield hull corrosion protection system which is designed to prevent corrosion on exterior hull surfaces. This proved extremely popular due to its advanced design and was rapidly adopted by cruise and commercial fleets leading to more than 10,000 installations.
Corrintec Marine, a division of Cathelco, is active in the protection of commercial and military high speed craft including warships and fast ferries where they have developed particular expertise in association with over 40 navies throughout the world.
In 2010, Cathelco acquired Seafresh Desalinators, a company with over 30 years of experience in reverse osmosis watermakers which has been developed into an internationally recognised brand.
With the growth of shipbuilding and repair in South East Asia, Cathelco established two strategically placed subsidiaries. Cathelco Korea, based in Busan, was set up in 2005 and Cathelco SEA became a subsidiary in 2011. More recently, Cathelco Middle East has been established a subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates and Cathelco Systems India has been set up to serve the subcontinent.
In 2015, Cathelco acquired Hydro Electrique Marine (HEM), specialists in the design and manufacture of desalinators and water treatment systems for luxury yachts. With a record of more than 4,000 installations, the company has a strong reputation for the quality and reliability of its products.
With almost 100 employees at its headquarters in Chesterfield, United Kingdom and a well established network of over 40 agents at ports throughout the world, Cathelco has maintained a record of steady expansion, building on its reputation of quality products and technical expertise of the highest calibre.
In addition to its marine engineering activities, Cathelco operates a UK property division providing a strong backbone of financial stability. In the last financial year the company’s turnover was £18.5 million.
